I borrowed this Japanese sewing book from Melissa with intentions of making a little girls apron from it. I decided to take the idea of the apron and turn it into a summer dress for me. I have never been one to follow patterns. This must be why I have a pile of projects that have not worked out, but luckily this one did.

I used a cotton linen blend which was so lovely to sew with because it is so soft and perfectly warn, probably because it used to be cushion covers. I added a pocket that closes with a vintage button. It's not really the style of dress I would usually wear, but I think it will be a good one to throw on after a swim at the beach.
